...On making artwork...BJ Ervick, who earned his BFA in Sculpture under Ming Fay at William Paterson University in NJ, has been enamored with the life inhabiting the dark depths of the sea, its known and unknown species as well as the imagined creatures trolling the vast aquatic frontiers.  Blending aspects of heavy linework, sweeping forms and bold contrasts, Mr. Ervick creates drawings, sculptures, paintings and installations that play on the ideas of the aquatic life in motion or transformation, while often developing hybrid formations of real and contrived forms that fuse the concepts of a species in communication or reproduction...most of the Artwork here on the site is for sale, if desired, place an inquiry to bjervickstudio@gmail.com...
